Visiting Grandpa Brook

We went to visit grandpa Brook, he was feeling good, so we stayed for dinner. He always has smarties for the princess. They sat on the steps and shared the smarties and played with Zoe for a while. It's always good to see her interacting with grandpa Brook.

1st snowman

It was a day that I had to kind of bribe her to come outside to play with me and her daycare friends. She wanted to stay inside with her daddy and hang out with her toys downstairs. When I asked if she wanted to make a snowman, she was excited and happy to come outside.

I am trying to explain to her how a snowman is created. She wanted me to start the snowball for her and then she wanted to push it around the backyard and watch it get bigger and bigger. She thought it was the neatest thing ever.

Our first ball to create the base of the snowman....she was excited to see this snowman finally taking some type of shape.
pattin' in down so all the snow is nice and firm
                                                          second snowball
the last snowball was in place and we just needed to patch it with snow so it sticks together.
we used play hamburgers that she had in her play house for the eyes, carrot for the nose and sticks for the arms and mouth. Baba took the stuff of the cedar trees to make like hair for the snowman
and we had the magic black hat....our 1st snowman

Piller's Appreciation Banquet

When Jason and I travelled to China to get miss diva, we tried in every way to bring home parts of the culture and things we thought would be nice to have for her sake. We bought miss diva Mongolian outfits when we were in Hohhot. When we return to Beijing, our guide had a tailor come into our room. He measured us and made us traditional Chinese silk dresses and blouses. I had a blouse and dress, Jason had the blazer he is wearing in the photo and we had a dress made for the princess.

Finally, after being home for also 2 years we got to wear our silks to a formal dinner, Piller's Appreciation banquet. We had lots of complements. I love this photo. It was a wonderful evening for us to go out and enjoy time together. We had fun. Jason got recognition for 15 years of service.A great night had by all.

Walking like a old man

Miss Diva is saying a lot of amusing things lately. The other night we were watching the Oasis channel and there were hedgehogs on there. She was watching and watching with a very serious but odd looking expressions on her face. Suddenly she turns to Jason and says" daddy, look and the prickly pinecones." Jason and I thought this was so funny.

Today, she was stumbling around like someone drunk. She was getting ready to go out the door for dance class and kind of staggered up against the cabinet and she mutters" walking like a old man". Jason and I looked at each other and said, did she just say what I think she said.....funny little person

New Snowsuit

We bought miss diva a new snowsuit and she was not impressed. She liked her old one but she as grown so much, she needed a new one. I love this colour on her. She looks so adorable in it!
She was so tired from running around playing duck, duck, goose that she said she needed a break. She sat in the doorway of her play structure and said"mama, I so tired!
sweet smile, and rosy red cheeks!
They were playing on the play toys outside and had a wonderful time. She was laughing so hard!
                                                                   winter fun!!!!!!!

Blue Rodeo

Last night, Jason and I left the princess for the first time. She was okay with it until we had said our see you later, and was leaving. She cried really hard but we assured her that we would be back soon and she could stay and read stories with nana. We called once we got to The Centre In the Square, and she was doing fine. Little monkey
Jason was never really a fan of Blue Rodeo until I dragged him a few years ago to see them. Now, he is not sure why he didn't like them.If you enjoy music and musicians that truly enjoy their job and music, you need to see Blue Rodeo, they are amazing and I can't wait until they return!

Registration forms

This is something I have been dreading....picking up Miss Diva's registrations forms for JK. I didn't think enrolling her for school was going to be this hard for me, considering I am a educator anyway. Boy, am I ever wrong. I am really struggling with this new milestone that's coming.

I am trying to pin point why I am having such a hard time, I've asked other mom's and apparently it's normal. How can letting your child go away from me for 6-7 hours a day be normal? I waited so long to bring her home and now I have enroll in school?

Needless to say, I will be the mom on the first day of school, with tears rolling down my cheeks....what can I say? I love our little princess and wants to spend all my time with her.

The Giant Tiger Hill

Miss Diva found a "hole" in the hill and loved crawling in and out . She spent most of her time there.
LOVE that smile. she was a little unsure about the whole sliding down the hill thing but once she did, she continued to do it. She had a blast with her friends.
