This morning after breakfast we put Madisyn in the stroller and went
walking around. Nan Jing is a beautiful city. We saw lots of interesting
things. We also got lots of stares and people almost getting in
accidents because they are not paying attention to where they are going.
We slept pretty good but we were up at 3am. Jason and I were playing mini uno...lol. Good times!
We leave to go to the civil affairs office soon. We are so excited and cannot wait until we have our weeman with us!
I'll post pics later!

1:40 am
This time change and jet leg is getting to me and Madisyn. We are both up
and playing with computers, while Jason sleeps. I feel so dizzy and
congested. The air is so dry in these rooms and to make it even better,
the people that stayed in our room before us smoked in here. I constantly have a headache.
Madisyn and I both fell asleep last night around 6:30pm. I tried keeping us busy but she would fall asleep standing, sitting, laying - it really didn't matter. She is doing wonderful, though. There hasn't been one tear! I swear the floor is softer than the beds here. My ribs are hurting and my legs are tingling, but I am happy to be in China and so close to holding our son.
I will send pictures as soon as we arrive back to the hotel this afternoon.
Thank you to the people that donated to Dru's toothpaste and toothbrush donations. We have a whole bag to give. Also, a bag of knitted hats, mittens and pants. I think we are going to buy some toys and formula to donate as well. A BIG THANK YOU!

Nanjing
Our
flight to Nanjing was delayed by 45 minutes for 2 reasons. First,
because we waited for four passengers that never appeared and second, because we sat on the
runway for 30 minutes waiting for the line of airplanes in front of us
to take off. It was like a traffic jam on the runway. Never seen that
before.
One thing I did forget about China is all snorting...wow, that is unreal.
It only took us an hour and a half to get to Nanjing! I wanted to take some pictures of the landscape, but the smog was so heavy. I feel it burning my eyes and it looks and smells like there is a fire somewhere.
Again, Madisyn did wonderful on the flight. She never ceases to amaze me, that's for sure.
So our guide, Michael, met us at the airport and transferred us to the hotel, exchanged all of our money, took us to grab some wonton soup, and we are now sitting in our room.
Tomorrow, we leave our hotel around 1:45 to go to the civil affairs office to finally meet Dru. Michael has told us a little about his orphanage. He said it's a small orphanage and the orphanages in this province tend to care for the children a wee bit better, because of it's wealth. Michael said this also explains why Dru has both of his surgeries done and that they were done quickly.
Then Michael is going to take us to get anything we need or want.
I feel like I am drunk, especially when I am trying to walk. Five hours of sleep in the last 48 hours is not cutting it. I will post pictures tomorrow of us as a family for 4.
This picture is of me getting fish crackers for Madisyn at 4 am this morning.
Goodnight

We Have Arrived!
It's good morning here! We arrived here in Beijing at 4:32 last night. By the time we got through customs, took the monorail to find our luggage and helped a family traveling from Quebec, it was 8 o'clock.
We got to our hotel room, showered, gave my STARVING child a snack, brushed teeth and went to bed.
I have to brag a little about what a wonderful traveler Madisyn is. There were no tears, she followed instructions, ate, slept and did very well. I was stressed about nothing. She is amazing.
I am sitting in the lounge right now, @ 6:02 am, going to get ready to eat breakfast and our guide will be here @ 8:20 to take us to the airport. It's a 2 hour flight from Beijing to Nanjing. We will be happy to see his sweet face tomorrow.

At the airport, Day 1 of our Journey to Dru
I am going to do my best to keep this log as up to date as possible. It will all depend of how things go in China.
We are at the airport and all checked in. No ripped luggage or anything...all is good. Madisyn is in awe of everything around her, especially the airplanes.
We are ready and I am not so nervous. Maybe it's the entire airport security thing that makes we sweat bullets.
They are calling...loading time. Blog once I am in Beijing.....
Please say a pray for us!
