Joseph Schneider House Easter Egg Hunt

We got up early today and went to Joseph Schneider house for a easter egg hunt. It was a gorgeous morning and Miss Diva was thrilled to be doing another easter egg hunt.

I really liked how they had a few things set up. First, they put a age limit which was up to 8. Then 0-3 was on the right hand side of the road, with very easy eggs to find and then 4-8 was over in the yard where the house was. Miss diva was watching and looking for easter eggs while we waited.

Second, I liked how they put nothing in the eggs. Miss Diva was a bit disappointed but when I told her she had to trade them in to the easter bunny for a bag for treats, she was okay. So, whether you found 5 or 50 eggs, you still got a bag of treats.
And we are off to wait in the line for the easter egg hunt...she was so excited....love her

She found one and was thrilled, she was ready to be done. She was quite happy with one until we asked her if she wanted to look for more.

Easter with Family

Yesterday, we had easter @ Aunt Evelyn's and Poppy Peter's. She was excited to go because she knew there was going to be a easter egg hunt.
Miss Diva found a cupcake ,she was thrilled. She doesn't really care how many she gets, she just wants to open them.
Miss Diva and mama, finding eggs together. This was so much fun to do with her. She is so wonderful.

All I have to say about this process is someone @ the CIC office needs to get their information correct, along with our agency. I am going crazy. Anyway, I will we are done and will be sending them off on Monday.

Please cross your fingers and toes that everything is correct and this headache is behind us for now.
I have been ill since march break, not feeling the greatest now but better. It sure shows in this picture.

Life's Travels....

Lately, I've been doing a lot of thinking about a lot of things. First, I've been thinking about some of the experiences that has changed me forever. Losing my grandparents has been by far my greatest lost so far. I loved them dearly and miss them so much. Them never getting the chance to meet Miss Diva really breaks my heart.

Thinking about when I was a teenager, growing up in Newfoundland and the wonderful friends I had there. Moving was hard! Starting a new life, new friends, missing my boyfriend at the time was hard, we grew apart. Meeting friends and finally meeting Jason was when I became "OK" with Ontario.

If you would have asked me then , what I wanted to do career wise...I wanted to go to Law school. Wanted to live comfortably near water and have 2 children. Dreamed big!

Graduating from college was big for me. Finally done school! Getting married and ready to start my life with my bestfriend. I was excited. We got married, bought a house, a car and lived happy. We wanted children and started trying.

God's plan for our lives could be so completely different then what we plan.If you had asked me back then if I thought of adoption, I would have said no. Not that I was not for adopting, just most everyone thinks of having biological children first. If you told me that my children would be residing on the opposite side of the world, I more then likely would have laughed at you. I love children. I love my child. God make my heart heavy for orphans in China. It's so easy to forget about them until you see one, so easy to forget their name until hold one, so easy to forget where they call home until you walk the halls of a orphanage that your now daughter once called home.Love hurts, love is strong and now that we have committed to our son, we cannot wait to bring him home.

Some of the paths I've had to walk has not been easy but I would not chose one thing different. Patiently waiting for our son.

Love you little boy!

Shady Grove

Last Saturday, we had our friends come for a visit and go to Shady Grove for a maple syrup excursion. The girls had a blast on the wagon ride and playing in the puddles.

Poor little Ailee just wanted to feed the horse, Cam and she got attacked by the goat. He started chewing on her coat and Paul had to move her away.

final paperwork

So, on Thursday, our final piece of paperwork arrived. We quickly photocopied it, double checked everything and scurried of to Purolator to send it to Ottawa and have it arrive by Friday.

Now we wait for all this to be reviewed by the Children's Bridge to make sure there is nothing missing and then it goes of to translation. This usually takes about 2 weeks and then it's off to the CCCWA in China for LID (log in date). Then we wait.

I am hoping for a November referral. That means we could be traveling around the same time as we did for Miss Diva. I thought it was a very nice time to travel. It wasn't to hot or cold and I didn't find the smog to bad.

I will keep my blog updated as much as possible.

Approval

Just wanted to post and say we received government approval today. Our social worker as let us down this time. There was a long list of things that are missing from our dossier and we are scrambling to get done before march break. That means making a trek to Newmarket to get Jan and Paul to help us with paperwork that they are included in. I have pretty much everything under control.

There are a few questions I will need to ask Gina on Monday but for the most part, I feel good about getting this completed.

So, Yay for approval and on to the next step!
