China Mama

Last night , we were sitting to the dinner table, eating dinner and enjoying our family time. Miss Diva pipes up and says" mama, that green card is for my china mama." I just stopped and listened.
Then she said"I am going to take it to China with me someday and give it to her.

My heart kind of sank! I said to her" Yan Yan, we may not be able to find her when we go to China, because we don't know where she is living or what her name is. She said "Yeah I know mama, but I will find her one days because she belongs to me."

She is starting to ask a lot questions and we can see she is thinking! Where ever you are China mama, we love you and would like to wish you a Merry Christmas.

I thought she was going to cry when meeting Santa Claus and sitting on his lap. Nope! Not a tear. She said to me, Mama, its Santa. No need to cry....Gotta love her to pieces.
                                               And her present.......Merry Christmas!

My cousin in Niagara Falls has a photography gig on the side of her day job. She is amazing and truly loves being around children and taking their pictures.

We went to visit Tammy and Dave on the weekend to have her take some Christmas photos of Miss Diva. Oh my word! Wait until you see the cuteness.

Here are a few!

getting ready for Halloween

Last year miss diva was all into going trick or treating, until, she went to one house that the people were dressed up with fake blood, white painted faces and witchy kind of laughs. This freaked her out and we came home.

This year, there was lots of discussing Halloween and what it's all about. Her first response was." I'm not doing it!" This was fine with me but the more she heard friends and daycare friends talking about it, she has changed her mind.

So we are going and she is going to be a ghost!

In preparation, we were making Halloween chocolates for her classmates and chocolates

lollipops for the Halloween hoot at school. She is now pumped and ready to go!

McMaster visit

Did I ever mention how brave miss diva is? Well, let me remind you. Yesterday @ McMaster, Christina came to the waiting area where we were waiting. Sat on the chair beside Miss Diva and told her everything that was going to happen and the words she was going to want her to repeat. We followed Christina into the room. She looked at me with a worried face and I reassured her that everything was going to be okay. We then put the lead aprons on and put her on the table. They asked her to lay down and she did. She was nervous! I could see it written all over her face. I held her hand and told her I was going to stay with her.

Christina put a lead coat on me so I could stand beside her. She then put some cream up into Miss Diva nose, so it would run down her throat so that it would give a better x ray of the palate. She started to cry but when she realized I was still there. She smiled and blew me a kiss. I held her hand and Christina started saying the words.

After we were all done, we had a quick chance to talk and the palate isn't reaching the back of the throat to stop the air from escaping out her nose. This means one thing...more surgery. I was expecting this but hoping it wasn't the case.

We will hear from McMaster on Tuesday and iron out the details.

I know God will be with us but I am not looking forward to this.....

weary.....

It's been a while since I wrote a post. I'm still not sure what to write but I will try. The last few months has been a whirl wind of events and before I knew it, Miss diva has been in JK for 8 weeks.

Before school started, Jason's granddad had passed away. This has been a very hard time for the princess, me and Jason. She continues to say good night grandpa in heaven and telling him that she misses him and would like to share smarties with him just one more time. This really breaks my heart!

Jason and I are struggling with family members making accusations that are not true. We know the truth and God knows the truth but it has created a feeling that Jason remembers to much as a child growing up. These people don't realize the hurt they are causing and to honest, may not care. Nice family! Anyway, we try to continue on with life and be happy, and I am loving every minute I get to spend with my little family.

Last, tomorrow, we are heading back to McMaster for a altrasound on miss diva's palate to see if it's working correctly. If not, they will then schedule a time for the next surgery. The surgery that will lengthen the palate. I am so worried about this, to the point where I am almost physically ill. For those following, please say a pray for the right solution and if it's another surgery that it works and she recovers smoothly.

thank you, EM

3rd week in

Well, what can I say? The princess is doing wonderful in school and the teacher is awe of her abilities to read, write and be quite the observer in and out of the classroom.

Last Thursday it was meet the teacher. I was excited to see where she spending her time and what her classroom looked like. The last picture of her class in June was like a bomb went of. BUT, new teacher, things seem to be a lot different. While we were looking around the classroom, I noticed there were pictures posted of the children doing different activities. I noticed in all the outside pictures, Miss Diva seemed to be alone but busy. so when I got a chance to talk with the teacher, she explained.

Miss diva would be the child with a clip board and pencil in hand, ready to go outside and observe her world. She would write stories and then tell them to all three staff in her class, and the same story, all three times. According to Mrs, Bishop, this is amazing for a four year old. She said she is a very smart girl and is all about learning. I was so proud of her and she made my heart swell with pride.

Great job miss diva.

Woodbine shopping centre

On Sunday the weather was not so nice. It was raining and cloudy. We needed to get out of the house, so we decided to go to Woodbine shopping centre, where there is a Fantasy Fair. This place is amazing to take your kids to, when the weather is undesirable outside.
This was the carousel that was there! It was huge and Miss diva loved to get on, get off, get on ,get off. It was nice that parents were permitted to get on too.
The train that goes around the entire fair. They had a cave that the train would go through. The princess was a little unsure but with daddy by her side, she was okay with giving it a try.
Momma and the princess on the ferris wheel...this didn't go fast enough for her. Little daredevil.
Daddy and Miss diva on the carousel together.
                                                                   Miss Diva
This ride was amazing! It was called Spinner and miss diva and I had a blast on this ride.
This is like the tea cups but it's called ships -a- hoy. She loved anything that could spin fast. She kept saying "mommy, spin it faster."
The final ride of the day...The airplanes. She had a great time and will certainly return here in the winter when it's cold outside.

1st Day of Junior Kindergarten

She was very excited to going to school for her first full day. I asked her if she needed help with her back pack and she said" no, mama, I am a big girl, I am going to school." She walked all the way to school. She waited patiently for the bell to ring and went inside. I managed to get 2 kisses before she hurried in the door. This momma walked home with tears in her eyes and a smile on her face.

Waiting for the bell to ring. She did a wonderful job and I am so very proud of her. Love you little princess.

Golf clubs

Our princess seriously wanted golf clubs and she loves them. I am not 100% sure how I feel about this. She is having a blast, so that's all that matters!

Getting Pampered

One day I was giving myself a pedicure. She was very curious about what I was doing, but VERY unsure of the foot tub,the vibrations and noise it was making. She watched very closely and asked very quietly, "mama, may I have a turn?"

She thought it was the funniest thing to put her feet in the water and the bubbles between her toes. When we were done, she told me her feet was feeling like "china paper." I'm still not sure what that meant. She got her toe nails painted and she was a very happy customer.LOL
